In physics, work is force times distance.

Work = Force x Distance

Interestingly, the joule (J) which is the unit of work in physics is the same unit that is used for energy. The work we do, the work we want to do, and the work we choose to do all require a significant amount of energy.

It also requires a working memory. Working memory, or short term memory, is fundamental to carrying out cognitive tasks.
