Finding a mentor for your academic or professional career can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be.

First of all, you don’t have to find one mentor who will guide you for the rest of your life. In fact, as I discuss in more detail below, I encourage you to have multiple mentors.

Second of all, you don’t need to beholden yourself to a single, one-size-fits all approach in finding a mentor and maintaining that mentee-mentor relationship.

Lastly, get rid of any pressure you feel in trying to find “the one” and instead get excited about how you want to improve your life through mentorship.
